One Stitch Tooth Care

Brand & Packaging Design

This concept explores the quilting taking place in British prisons. The existing company Fine Cell Work is teaching prisoners high-quality needlework that boosts their self-worth, instils self-discipline, fosters hope and encourages them to lead independent, crime-free lives. My concept raises awareness and funding for this organization by supplying a new toothbrush to every prisoner in the program as well as donating 15% of proceeds to their program for more designing possibilities. The packaging will feature simplified versions of the designs they are recreating, as well as a bit about the organization and what we can do to help.

Illustrations

For the illustrations I wanted to keep the integrity or the original quilted patterns but, simplify and modernize them for shelf appeal.

They are all part of a system but each has their own story and feeling behind them to make them unique.

Founded by Lady Anne Tree in 1997, Fine Cell Work is a charity that teaches needlework skills to prison inmates, employing inmates in prisons around England and Scotland to produce high quality cushions, tapestries, quilts and other sewn goods. The inmates carry out their needlework while confined to their cells, a productive and creative use of hours of confinement. As well as gaining skills and independence, prisoners are paid for their work, allowing them to save for their release.
